and when ever i try to load a map the game crashes. Is there a patch for this?

I'm not sure if it will help in your case and even less sure on admins' links policy, but here's RC3 (FRC3) version I use & it works for me - http://www.mediafire.com/file/g1dtm6b4rghzsnw/Battlegroup+42+mod+FRC3.7z
Download and unpack it using 7zip into mods folder of your BF1942 installation. It should already have all parts inside.
I uploaded it some time after developers' website went down. There are only FRC2 version available on other websites and here download section is pretty much empty at the moment, hopefully there'll be an official source at some point.
I notice you've downloaded version 0.9, which was only compatible with a much older version of Battlefield 1942.
The latest version released to public is RC3. I am not sure if that is available elsewhere at the moment, but RC2 is available on Mod DB.
Make sure your BF1942 is at the latest version (1.6b) before installing the mod.
Not sure when RC4 will be released, but that would be the next version to be released on the website.
You've just downloaded an almost a decade-and-a-half old version of BattleGroup42 (0.9 Client BETA)!
The latest was Final RC3+Patch 1, unfortunately it was not available anymore due to server problem last May. But if you have a stable internet connection, just download this file posted on ATWiki: Google Driveよりダウンロード（RARファイル形式）

I got the most recent BG installed, but now whenever i try to join a internet server running BG, the game crashes while loading the map. Its works fine in
Multiplayer> Create game, or create local.
I think both Eckhart battlegroup42 1.7 and =Vu= Battle Group V1.8 Red/Blue server are still hosting an older version of BattleGroup42. The former as the name suggest was running a version 1.7 of the mod, while the latter was Final RC2.

Ok thanks, internet speed is fine, no problems downloading , but a single file here will start ok'ish slow and die way in repeatedly, guess i will have to wait

At the time that was the only two BattleGroup42 online serves active before RC4 came out, but there's new servers hosting it now, with 64-player slots on one hand (Coop) and with 42 slot (Conquest) on another which also hosting FH. Just update your server browser and click "Add Favorite" on it! 😉

ah ... I already understood ... how I was going to forget, you're right, then in Battlegroup42 now there are already some active servers.
