Regarding 4104-Adria Annexion, the Italian base shouldn't be capturable, but an uncapturable with 0 value. Maybe Sarge can verify this proposal?

Operation Highjump was the largest expedition ever mounted to the Antarctic. Was it meant to wipe out the third reich's presence?

Operation Highjump, officially titled 'the United States navy Antarctic developments program, 1946-47', was a United States navy operation organized (coincidentally?) by rear admiral Richard Byrd in Antarctica under the command of Richard Cruzen. It was launched on 26 August 1946 and ended abruptly in late February 1947, six months earlier than planned because of a sinking and heavy damaging of the ships and heavy losses of the airplanes undisclosed even today. What had happened? The massive Antarctic task force 68 included, 14 ships, multiple airplanes, 4.700 men and 3.500 marines. The official stated claims of the operation were as follows:

To test material and train personnel in the frigid zones.
To consolidate and extend American sovereignty over the largest practical area of the Antarctic continent.
To determine the feasibility of establishing and maintaining bases in the Antarctic and to investigate possible base sites.
To develop techniques for establishing and maintaining air bases on the ice, with particular attention to the later applicability of such techniques to operations in the interior of Greenland (where, it was then believed, climatic and physical conditions resembled those in Antarctica).
To expand existing knowledge of electromagnetic, hydrographic, geographic, geological and meteorological conditions in the area.

However, the choice of ships and fleet size is extremely suspicious. The actual fleet included the following ships:

Western group

Tanker 'Cacapon'
Destroyer 'Henderson'
Seaplane tender 'Currituck' with Martin Mariner flying boats

Eastern group commanded by captain George Dufek

Tanker 'Canisteo'
Destroyer 'Brownson'
Seaplane tender 'Pine island' with Martin Mariner flying boats

Central troop group

Command ship 'Mount Olympus'
Icebreaker 'Burton island'
Icebreaker 'Northwind'
Supplyship 'Yankey'
Supplyship 'Merrick'
Torpedo boat 'Maddox' (or 'Murdoch')
Submarine 'Sennet'

The airplane carrier 'Philippine sea' also participated, although it was not assigned to any of the groups. Understandably the need for ice breakers, supply ships, seaplane tenders and communication ships are necessary for such an operation but the use of two destroyers, one torpedo boat, an airplane carrier with Chance-Vought Corsair fighters and a submarine is somewhat dubious if all they set out to do is carry out surveys. Were they expecting penguins firing artillery?

Operation Highjump has become a topic among U.F.O. conspiracy theorists, who claim it was a covert U.S. military operation to conquer alleged secret underground German nazi facilities in Antarctica including base 211 and capture the Vril flying disks or Thule mercury powered spaceship prototypes. Many conspiracy articles and discussions examine a postwar encounter reported near a British Antarctic camp with uniformed Germans in an ice cave, when considered in the context that several German U-boats, a large amount of building supplies and German scientists identified by operation Paperclip were still unaccounted for, this adds credibility to the possibility of a German nazi base and a real motive for the subsequent operation. Operation Highjump remains one of the few postwar operations with documents still classified by the military.

Admiral Richard Byrd had stated: "I don't want to frighten anyone unduly but it is a bitter reality that in the case of a new war, the continental United States will be attacked by airplanes flying in from one or both poles at incredible speeds".

Map/s:

-> 4504-Black forest (Conquest/Coop)
After the spawn of Flettner Fl 282, it fall through this platform then explodes:

FIXED

-> 4701-Antarctica (Conquest/Objective)
Instead of winter texture, all of Flakvierling 38 uses late-war skin like this one:

FIXED

Vehicle/s:

-> Bugged transmission and front wheel of Kettenkrad (e.g. 4504-Operation Herring):
NOT A BUG - MODEL WAS ALWAYS THIS BAD (DICE MODEL)

-> M11/39's secondary armament had a glitch in gunner's viewport (e.g. 4307-114 to Messina):
FIXED

-> The waist gunner both port and starboard of B-17F's 12.7mm machine gun does not have any crosshair (e.g. 4501-New year's day):
I suggest if possible, to use iron sights instead of crosshair for B-17F waist gunners.

FIXED

I know that Battlegroup Frontlines for BF2 was supposed to be a successor of BattleGroup42, but a mod for Crysis? http://black-sand-studio.com/mod_projects/crysis/battle_group_frontlines_2/

And there's an unskinned Sd.Kfz. 7/1 (w/ 2 cm Flakvierling 38 L/65):

And it looks like Battlegroup-Frontlines 2 had a similar fate just like BGF, although the latter were able to release 1.05b.

4406-Fox Green
MG 42 in E8 bunker is too low

FIXED

4011-Kalamas Line
Death zone behind the tunnel is easily reached because there is no collision for the "roof" section. Furthermore, bots spawning from the Italian base tend to turn around and head for their death there.

FIXED

4312-Ortona
Canadian bots get stuck inside the house

FIXED

4104-Adria Annexion
Italian tanks controlled by bots don't really move from starting point; they stay in place while gunning down the opponents.

FIXED - COOP AND PATHMAPS COMPLETELY REWORKED

Keep in mind that I have already made this suggestion long ago as the map was fresh introduced, check the internal section of the MOB Forum. I know that there are some UFO wrecks as well as there was a mock-up there but it's only low-class DICE work and they are by far not enough for a real allusion to that mystery character. Oh and before you get me wrong: The fact that I support that doesn't mean that the map overall is bad or something in that way- only the icing of the cake is missing, that's all. Keep that in mind too.

Remember, the map is already quite old, and by the time I made it, everyone was confident with it. Of course it would benefit from some eye candy. At least, we have a Horten there now and V2 rockets. UFO objects were there from the beginning as wrecks.

From my point of view, most of the maps, and especially the older ones, could need a refurbishment, but this would mean a tedious and massive amount of work. It would also need to implement more statics and objects. I could do that only for a handful of maps (maybe), so I invite everyone to contribute own work on BG42 maps to us.

Handweapons:
The shield on the Panzerschreck obstructs too much of the screen.
To be honest, I like the current setup of Panzerschreck and how it represent on screen. (Thanks Sarge31FR for returning the blast shield.  Zwinkernd )

Just switch your handweapon to pistol when you want to move or to hunt your victim, get some cover when you discovered one, then switch to Panzerschreck and aim properly especially where the tank's weak spot, shoot and BOOM!

Of course, don't forget to use shoot-and-scoot tactics, or else...
